Job Description:
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Medicine for Older Adults team in a band 6 role. UHH physiotherapy team provides specialist input to 2 acute and 2 rehabilitation wards. UHH also has a specialist frailty unit. This post requires an enthusiastic individual who is motivated to play a key role in promoting the development of older peoples services. The post holder will have shared responsibility for the supervision and development of junior staff, support workers and students. We provide an active in-service training programme, regular supervision and support CPD.
What we'll need you to bring
1. Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration
2. Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
3. Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
5. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
6. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
7. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
8. The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
9. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Working knowledge of basic information technology

2. Membership of relevant special interest group
3. Multi disciplinary working
4. Research and audit
5. Experience or interest in specialist area as detailed in role profile for this post
Contract type: Permanent
Full time: 37 hours
Location and Working Pattern: This role will be based in Physiotherapy within University Hospital Hairmyres. The working pattern for this role 5/7 plus on-call.
