We are seeking a dynamic Model Risk Manager to help build the company’s model risk function. This role is an opportunity to shape Encore’s strategic thinking on model risk, a key focus for both company leadership and financial institutions around the world.
Responsibilities:
* Provide support and input to model building teams located in both BU’s (e.g., MCM and Cabot either statistics or decision science) to ensure newly built models are aligned with Encore’s forecasting strategy.
* Support quarterly revenue forecasting processes driven by Forecasting and Analysis teams in both MCM and Cabot by effectively challenging assumptions and communicating model use decisions to senior leadership.
* Present information on changes in BU portfolio forecasts to executive leadership (ELT).
* Recommend and implement enhancements to Encore’s model governance processes.
* Develop risk controls including model catalogs, risk tiering, and other reporting.
We are looking for someone with:
* Experience with analytical tools such as Python, SQL, and PowerBI.
* 4+ years of experience in model development, model validation, predictive modeling, or other model risk and assessment roles.
* Experience with developing or evaluating credit models, loss models, or similar.
* Strong ability to manage through influence and across a complex organization.
* Ability to work across global teams and organizations.
* Strong communication skills with all levels of an organization.
* Experience in the financial services industry.
* Bachelor’s degree or Higher in a quantitative field of study (Statistics, Finance, Economics or Similar).
