Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Engineering Department at St Thomas hospital for a Plumber. The post holder will be responsible for carrying out scheduled and pre-planned maintenance activities and will attend to reactive works across the Trust's estate. The post holder will be responsible for effective maintenance of the Trust's technical infrastructure. This will include responsibility for the effective implementation of the Hospital's Health and Safety policies and protocols. The post holder will have the ability to organise and prioritise their own workload, where required, and work unsupervised, independently, and autonomously. Interviews are scheduled for 28/03/24 Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the below tasks: Support the team manager to ensure the day-to-day efficient and safe working of all plumbing plant onsite. Be fully conversant with all types of drainage and sewage ejectors. Carry out routine maintenance (PPM) of mechanical plant, as directed by team manager. Attend to plant and equipment breakdowns and carry out repair and restoration work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Strip down and clean/disinfect plumbing equipment, such as TMVs and tap fixtures. Work with a range of other craftspeople. Clear blockages, when required.
