Charity: Diocese of Salisbury
Role: Trust Funding Advisor
Salary: c.£35,000 to £44,000 (pro rata for 4 days)
Flexibility: Home and flexible working available
The Charity
The Diocese of Salisbury stands as one of the Church of England’s 42 dioceses, with over 500 churches in its care and a steadfast commitment to preserving the UK’s ecclesiastical heritage.
With a mission to maintain and transform these sacred buildings into thriving community hubs, the Diocese is leading the way in ensuring these historic landmarks serve communities now and for generations to come.
With support through partnerships with major funders like the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Diocese is positioned for growth and innovation in the heritage and community development space.
The Role
As Trust Funding Advisor, you’ll play a pivotal role in partnering with and empowering parish churches to raise capital funds for their buildings, as well as achieving long-term financial sustainability.
You’ll work closely with parish leaders to inspire and support fundraising efforts, fostering a culture of giving across our communities. Collaborating with trusted partners and funders, your expertise will be instrumental in developing proposals that align with the Diocese’s mission, ensuring that each church can preserve its legacy while enriching its local community.
This role is a true partnership with our parishes. The call for enhanced fundraising support has come directly from the churches themselves, creating a unique opportunity to work with leaders who are eager to drive change and make a lasting impact. You’ll be joining a team committed to proactive heritage preservation, making a real difference across the Diocese.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you’ll need a blend of trust funding expertise, strategic insight, and a passion for heritage preservation. While we welcome candidates from varied backgrounds, desirable skills and experience include:
* Proven track record in securing and building trust funding pipelines for heritage sites, and the communities they serve.
* The ability to inspire and empower Church leaders and communities in the realisation of financial sustainability.
* A strategic approach to identifying new opportunities in a shifting heritage funding landscape, where the Diocese and funders share ever increasing alignment.
* Experience with project delivery and donor reporting, ensuring transparency and successful execution of funded projects.
* Strong relationship-building and communication skills, ensuring a positive experience for Church leaders and smooth, high-impact stewardship for donors.
