About John John is 20 years old and preparing to transition into his own home in Peacehaven. He is an energetic, funny, and intelligent young man who enjoys music, singing, and dancing. On challenging days, he may become withdrawn, struggle with anxiety, and exhibit behaviours of concern. John needs a confident, empathetic, and experienced support team to listen to him, offer choices, and provide support both when hes thriving and when he needs reassurance. The role involves helping John adjust to his new living environment at his own pace, supporting him in activities he enjoys like exploring parks, learning new things, and using his mobility car. He has a history of trauma and requires full personal care support, medication administration, and daily communication with his close-knit family. John has a diagnosis of Severe Learning Disability, Autism, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Tourettes Syndrome, Attachment Disorder, Pathological Demand Avoidance, and Keratoconus. Patience and strong relationship-building skills are essential for this role. About you We are looking for a Support Worker who will put John first. You should be energetic, positive, and committed, with the ability to support John through tough times and help him make choices and learn new skills. You will: Have excellent communication Be resilient and have a nurturing, kind, and caring approach You should be flexible, reliable have a good understanding of sensory needs Be structured, honest, and a good listener Experience with autism and behaviours that challenge is required for this role. Full training will be provided through Seco Supports induction programme and online learning. Full referencing and a full enhanced check of the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) will be required for this position.
