The Procurement Specialist plays a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of Procurement Operations in Veolia. They will support the Procurement Manager (Operations, Compliance and Systems) in managing and optimising procurement systems and processes. This role involves assisting with the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of procurement systems, as well as supporting the development and implementation of procurement policies and training programs. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, they identify potential suppliers, evaluate supplier compliance and risks, and manage supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution Provide guidance and support in resolving issues that Coordinators are unable to manage independently, ensuring smooth operations and continuity in procurement activities Make informed decisions independently, particularly in managing procurement projects, identifying and mitigating risks, and handling escalations from Procurement Coordinators proactive problem-solving and decision-making in dynamic situations, such as negotiating with suppliers, customising procurement strategies to meet project needs, and implementing improvements in systems and processes Authority to initiate and lead cross-functional collaborations, influence internal stakeholder decisions, and manage vendor relationships independently Regularly communicate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their procurement needs and requirements. This involves clarifying specifications, discussing project timelines, and ensuring alignment with organisational goals Provide timely and accurate reports to management and relevant stakeholders about the status of procurement activities, project progress, and any challenges encountered Work closely with the procurement team and other related teams (like finance and operations) to ensure seamless integration of procurement strategies and operations Offer training and guidance to less experienced team members, such as Procurement Coordinators, especially in complex procurement procedures or when new systems and policies are implemented related to procurement system implementations, upgrades, and integrations. Familiarity with procurement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in procurement systems and processes.
