An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Skye & Lochalsh Integrated Community Team to be the senior support worker for Airdferry Day Care centre. We have a great Day Care centre that provides social engagement for service users and respite for carers.
We are looking for someone with experience of working with older adults in a health and social care setting who would bring enthusiasm and leadership qualities to the role. This senior position would require excellent organisational skills and very good communication abilities with staff, services, professionals and the older adults in the service.
This position would support the other staff to carry out their work and support the service activities. The post holder is responsible to organise the activities, procurement for the service, manage staff situations on a daily basis and work closely with the day care services manager. Providing transport is a vital part of the service and we have a driver employed and a mini-bus available to support this. Additionally, Support Workers regularly use their own vehicles to transport service users where suitable.
Candidates will be willing and able to undertake the required training for service delivery.
Successful applicants will be required to register with the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme and hold a valid driver’s licence.
Experience is desirable but not essential.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
