About The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Composites team for aComposite Laminating Inspectorto join our Early/Late Shift. The department is responsible for the manufacture of complex carbon fibre reinforced plastic structures such as the chassis, gearbox carrier, wings and engine components. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality is achieved and support the development of manufacturing methods and processes within Composite Laminating.
Key Accountabilities (Duties):
You will be the front line in ensuring quality is held to the highest standards within the team. In this role you will not only be responsible for quality but also looking to optimise process efficiency within Laminating and the surrounding departments. Your roles and responsibilities will include:

Lead in-process inspection of the laminating operations.

Take accountability for ensuring all processes are carried out as specified in the authorised documents and drawings/layup manuals.

Visual inspection of all final laminated components as per drawing specification.
*
Categorise and log defects within the internal feedback system and pro-actively participate on and lead the investigation of the root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent defects from reoccurring.

Engage with laminators and team leaders to address any quality concerns.
*
Raise feedback with Design and Manufacturing teams to ensure the instructions in drawings, lay-up books and check sheets are correct and reliable to produce quality parts.

Ensure the laser program and kit of materials are correct and suitable for the laminating group to produce components within cost, quality, and lead-time parameters.
*
Support with the modification of the lay-up books and generation of check sheets.
*
Recording of all inspection data and part traceability information.
*
Continuously promote efficiency ideas across the laminating department or any other area within the business to reduce cost of the manufacturing operations.

Collaboration and agility is a requirement for this role; therefore, you should be able support laminating activities and/or other departments when required.
Candidate Profile
Essential:
*
An experienced Composite Laminator.
*
Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes.
*
Ability to interpret drawings, technical specifications, and product control documentation.
*
An understanding of RCCA principles including practical problem solving.
*
Excellent communication skills and confidence providing constructive feedback to maintain high quality standards.
*
Proficient computer skills including MS Office.
*
Knowledge of SAP desirable.
*
Knowledge in 3Dx/CATIA would be desirable.
*
Autoclave experience would be desirable.
