Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer Permanent Excellent company culture and mature environment About the Role We are seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team at a leading food manufacturing site. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of the production machinery. This is a growing and evolving site with investment leading to a clear plan moving forwards to implement, grow and develop the team further along with establishing new PPM's and processes. Needing technical skills such as electrical, mechanical and pneumatic fault finding and repair are a given but this role would particularly suit someone who has experience of, and a passion for, working with unique machinery, being able to come up with novel solutions to maintenance problems and who have an open mind to working on unusual and bespoke machinery. Key Responsibilities Preventative & Reactive Maintenance – Conduct routine servicing and emergency repairs on equipment, conveyors, sifters, pneumatic systems, and electrical controls. Fault Finding & Troubleshooting – Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime and ensure smooth production. Continuous Improvement – Support process efficiency initiatives and suggest improvements for reliability and safety. PLC & Electrical Maintenance – Work with automation and control systems to ensure optimal machine performance. Compliance & Safety – Ensure all work is carried out to food safety, health & safety, and compliance standards. What we’re looking for Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role, ideally but not necessarily within the food manufacturing sector. Experienced with mechanical, electrical and pneumatic fault finding skills, including working knowledge of large capital equipment such as conveyors, sifters, pneumatic systems, motors, metal detectors and PLCs. Engineering qualifications (HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) would be preferable. Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) systems and fault diagnosis. Experience of using a CMMS system Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. What’s in It for you?
