The role
Here at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! It takes a great deal of people from different backgrounds, with diverse skills and experience to serve our force area effectively, think you have what it takes to help us make a difference? This could be the perfect time for you to join us in our Force Coordination and Operations Department as an FCC Analyst.
As an FCC Analyst you will develop and manage a forecasting strategy by thoroughly understanding organisational demand patterns and trends. Offer analytical capabilities to examine demand data, predicting future needs and requirements for bank holidays and other events.
You will lead continuous reviews of force-wide shift patterns in response to changing demand trends, providing options for new patterns to ensure the ability to meet demand.
You will analyse resourcing information and provide detailed reports, including officer skills data, to support effective planning for key events.
What you’ll do
1. Lead the planning and management of force demand analysis by integrating intelligence, consultation, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance the force’s ability to meet demand.
2. Develop and implement forecasting models to improve accuracy, review outputs, and make recommendations for future opportunities.
3. Produce short, medium, and long-term forecasts that reflect emerging demand and resourcing trends, enabling a proactive approach to meeting and reducing demand.
4. Generate short-term forecasts that account for last-minute changes in operational demand (e.g., protests), facilitating a reactive approach to meet demand.
5. Analyse current and historical data to develop predicted future demand scenarios, supporting recommended adjustments to resourcing and skills profiles as needed.
6. Provide insights into the planning assumptions made in organisational design.
