Compressed Air Engineer – Job Specification
Location: Bedford
Salary:£35,000-£45,000
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time (42.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00)
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated engineer with both electrical and mechanical expertise to join our team. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing compressed air systems and associated equipment. The role involves primarily working on customer sites within a 50-mile radius, with occasional workshop-based jobs.
You will report directly to the Service Manager, who will coordinate your daily and weekly schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out maintenance, repair, and installations of compressed air systems. Diagnose and resolve system faults using standard tools and techniques. Work independently on customer sites after training, with collaboration for larger projects. Provide excellent customer service through effective communication and tailored solutions. Accurately log job reports in a timely manner. Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to deliver high-quality service. Requirements:
Hands-on experience in a technical role with both electrical and mechanical skills. Proficiency in diagnosing breakdowns, scheduled maintenance, and repairs. Relevant qualifications or training to support your experience. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Full UK driving licence. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Adaptability to change and new ideas. Desirable Skills:
Experience working independently across diverse sites. Proven expertise in compressed air systems and related equipment. Relevant qualifications in engineering, mechanical, or electrical disciplines. Familiarity with software tools like MS Outlook, Office 365, or similar. Ability to tow a trailer (if included in your driving licence). What We Offer:
