Senior Cloud Systems Analyst Opportunity – Halifax – 3 days per week on site – £50,000 - £60,000
The Bridge IT has partnered with a fast-growing organisation near Halifax to recruit a Senior Cloud Systems Analyst. This is an exciting time to join as our client is expanding rapidly and transitioning from an on-premises setup managed by an MSP to a fully Azure-based infrastructure.
This role is ideal for a seasoned cloud professional with extensive experience in managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, optimising performance, and ensuring operational security. As a Senior Cloud Systems Analyst, you will take charge of the day-to-day administration of the Azure environments, managing resources, monitoring systems, and supporting cloud-based services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Azure Infrastructure Management: Administer and optimise Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking.
2. System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring solutions and resolve system issues, such as performance bottlenecks and outages.
3. Automation & Scripting: Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like ARM templates or Bicep.
4. Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for critical Azure services.
5. Security & Compliance: Ensure security best practices and compliance by managing firewalls, encryption, and conducting regular security audits.
Experience Required:
1. 5+ years of experience in system administration, with at least 3 years focused on cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure.
2. Proven ability to manage and support key Azure services, including VMs, networking, storage, and security.
3. Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex system issues.
Technical Skills:
1. Proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other scripting for automation and administration.
2. Expertise in networking concepts, including DNS, VPN, load balancing, and firewalls.
3. Experience in designing backup and disaster recovery solutions in Azure.
4. Familiarity with Azure Security Centre, Azure Policy, and other Azure security tools.
Desirable Certifications:
1. ITIL Certification
2. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
3. Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
