Job Description We are looking for a Director of School Business Operations for a school in the Bridlington area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to progress into a career within senior management. This role will provide strategic leadership and responsibility for Finance, Health & Safety and Estate Management. You will be a highly self-motivated, intellectually confident, and emotionally intelligent leader who is able to communicate well with all members of the school community. Responsibilities will include: Leadership and strategic influence: Attend and contribute to senior leadership meetings, influencing strategic decisions aligned with the school's development plan. Financial management: Oversee all financial operations, including processing orders, monitoring expenditure, processing invoices, and preparing financial reports for decision-making bodies. Team leadership: Lead, inspire, and challenge a team of key support staff, ensuring they are motivated and aligned with organizational goals. Communication and stakeholder management: Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including school personnel, external bodies, and the general public, providing advice and guidance on behalf of the Senior Team. Site management and safety: Ensure the efficient management of the school premises, including regular safety checks, disaster recovery planning, and compliance with health and safety regulations. Budget management and planning: Develop and manage the annual budget and long-term financial plans, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support the school's objectives. Supplier and contractor liaison: Maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring timely processing of orders and compliance with contractual obligations. Compliance and regulatory adherence: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including financial regulations, planning, and building regulations, to mitigate risk and maintain legal compliance. Asset management: Manage inventory and assets, including equipment and vehicles, to ensure optimal utilization and maintenance. Reporting and decision support: Prepare and present reports on financial and operational matters to senior leadership and governing bodies, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes.
