An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our established and dedicated Estates Team. In this role you will contribute to ensuring that DHCFT delivers a high-quality service which meets the needs of all our patients and families in line with the DHCFT strategy. The Estates Department is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Mechanical Craftsperson to assist with mechanical PPM, minor works, and day to day reactive maintenance. The mechanical programme is critical to achieving a suitable patient environment for all Wards and Departments to deliver the highest level of care.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the operational delivery of a mandatory and statutory compliant Estates service in the areas listed below. This list is not exhaustive:
1. Planned Preventative Maintenance
2. Reactive Maintenance
3. Multiskilled basic electrical/plumbing tasks - TMV Servicing, WC repairs, Lighting Repairs, etc.
4. Grounds and Gardens Tasks
5. Painting & Decorating Tasks
6. Drainage/blockages
7. Health and Safety Regulations including:
8. Infection Control measures
9. Operation of technical machinery
10. COSHH
11. Work with tools and equipment, on a wide range of materials.
12. Available for out of hours on-call duties
Work closely with the Estates Officers in formulating an integrated annual plan that meets the business objectives and is consistent with the Trust's objectives.
Responsible for carrying out works to drawings/specifications and ensuring they are delivered in line with detailed timescales, project plans, and are in accordance with purchase orders.

Qualifications
* Must hold a mechanical/plumbing certificate to a minimum of C&G Level 3 or equivalent qualification
Skills
* Have the ability to carry out problem solving/fault finding on all aspects of mechanical/plumbing.
* Will require good communication skills to ensure that technical detail is effectively communicated to non-technical audiences.
* Have the ability to work autonomously, be well-organised, with high attention to detail and able to prioritise their own workload.
Knowledge and Experience
* Previous experience within healthcare environment
* Have experience of using handheld CAFM technology.
Driving License
* Valid UK Driving Licence
