Job Overview:
A highly regarded Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Bridgend is searching for a Behaviour and ASD Mentor who can harness the power of sport to drive positive change. If you're energetic, compassionate, and eager to make a difference, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
* Use sports and physical activity to promote positive behaviours and emotional regulation.
* Mentor students with ASD and behavioural challenges, both 1:1 and in small groups.
* Develop and implement individualised behaviour support plans in collaboration with teaching staff.
* Foster social skills, resilience, and teamwork through structured physical sessions.
* Act as a positive role model—promoting discipline, perseverance, and confidence.
About You:
* Previous experience supporting young people, preferably in SEN or alternative provision settings.
* Background in sports coaching, youth work, physical education, or similar.
* Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport.
* Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management.
* Knowledge of behaviour strategies (training provided if needed).
✅ Essential Requirements:
* Experience in sports coaching or education.
* A genuine passion for working with children with additional learning needs.
* Willingness to complete or already hold an Enhanced DBS check.
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register.
