Do you have a passion for helping those who are in need? Do you enjoy spending time with people? Maybe you are considering a career in social care? Then we are looking for you.
Southend Care is looking for Volunteers to help out in Brook Meadows House, our Residential Care Home. We are a caring and passionate company who support over 1000 vulnerable people in the local community. We enable those who are disadvantaged and ensure all our customers are valued as individuals.
In our modern lives, social isolation and loneliness are becoming a normal part of everyday life. Through volunteering, you can help us fight against this and create a fun and enjoyable environment for our residents. By offering companionship and emotional support through activities such as doing arts and crafts on a rainy day, listening to music, or simply having a cup of tea and listening to our residents' stories, you can improve individuals' mental wellbeing as well as enabling them to have access to the community.
Volunteering leads to:
* Making friends and joining a friendly care team
* Gaining experience in Health and Social Care
* Learning new skills
* Giving back to your community
* Gaining or enhancing people skills
As you will be in contact with vulnerable adults, we will require a DBS Certificate (this is free of charge for Volunteers) and two references. We will also offer you training to ensure you are confident and provide you with all the support you need to carry out your much-needed role.
Join us today, volunteer alongside highly trained Healthcare professionals, and learn new people skills!
