Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Cambridgeshire, is currently looking to recruit a Service Desk Network Engineer on a permanent contract with a salary of: GBP31,365.
Responsibilities:
1. Undertake first line technical support for the Unified Communications Team, including support for telephony, paging, radios, IT applications, and desktop support.
2. Provide a front-line service desk service to users, responding to phone calls, emails, or walk-ins, and creating tickets to track work to completion.
3. Assist with the development of corporate strategies related to Unified Communications.
4. Deputise for the Service Desk Manager as required, attending meetings and liaising with suppliers.
5. Meet with organisational personnel to discuss requirements and gather information for works orders or faults.
6. Create and maintain records for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness of services.
7. Participate in duty engineer arrangements and support the Service Desk Manager.
8. Be part of an out-of-hours on-call rota for fault resolution.
9. Liaise with service providers to resolve external faults affecting local services.
10. Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders.
11. Manage and negotiate supplier contracts and supervise contractors.
12. Ensure effective, resilient, and cost-effective services are provided.
Essential Skills:
1. Standard level General Education, GCE/CSE/GCSE or equivalent qualification.
2. Project Management experience.
3. Relevant experience in managing telephony, paging, or IT systems in a large organisation.
4. Experience in a customer service or front of house environment.
5. Collaborative problem-solving experience.
6. Experience in a first- or second-line service desk environment.
7. Ability to communicate effectively with patients and the public.
8. Sound knowledge of organisational service provision requirements.
9. Ability to analyse complex data and present options.
10. Ability to work independently or under direction.
11. Confidentiality and discretion.
12. Organisational ability and multitasking skills.
13. Ability to establish effective relationships at all levels.
14. Self-motivated and proactive.
