Graduate Teaching Assistant
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our client secondary school based in County Durham. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching and learning within the school, working closely with both students and teachers.
This role will start in January and will run full-time until the end of the academic year, in July 2025.
We encourage graduates wanting to gain experience prior to starting a PGCE to apply. Depending on how a successful candidate gets on in school, they may be welcomed back to complete one of their placements within the school while doing teacher training.
Responsibilities:
* Assisting various departments in planning and delivering engaging lessons
* Providing one-on-one support to students who require additional help
* Conducting small group activities to reinforce learning objectives
* Marking and providing constructive feedback on student work
* Supporting students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
* Promoting a positive learning environment within the classroom
* Collaborating with teachers to create resources and materials for lessons
Requirements:
* A degree in any subject
* Previous experience working with secondary school students is beneficial
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
