The purpose of this role is to ensure theoretical learning is consolidated in practice by competencies sign offs and support.
Main duties of the job
DCHS are seeking a highly motivated individual who will be enthusiastic about providing an intensive support programme for new and existing staff.
You will be an experienced clinician and have excellent communication, IT and clinical skills with the ability to work well within a team and independently.
You will have a keen interest for supporting and developing others, using up to date evidence based practice, sharing knowledge and skills to consolidate the theoretical learning into practice.
Travel will be required.

Job responsibilities
Co-ordinate the delivery of evidence-based education and training within the clinical environment, acting as a resource to facilitate the development of professional and clinical skills across the Trust.
Plan, develop, deliver and evaluate educational/training programmes and study days to meet the clinical educational requirements across the Trust, utilising a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to meet all learning styles.
Contribute to delivery of role specific training as directed by the Lead Nurse for Clinical and Professional standards.
Work clinically alongside staff at all levels to facilitate and sign off the achievement of competencies relevant to their role and achieve competence following clinical skills training.
Assist clinical managers with the management of poor performance including the development of action plans, working alongside staff to facilitate the achievement of objectives/competences, providing feedback to the individual and their Manager at regular intervals.
Ensure effective and tactful two way communication of complex and sensitive information related to individuals.
To be able to use advanced communication skills of persuasion, motivation, coaching, modelling and other training interventions.
To have an understanding and ability to overcome the barriers to learning.
To be able to present complex information to large groups of staff providing education, training instruction or guidance as appropriate.
Contribute to the maintenance of accurate training records utilising ESR, as evidence of education provided to staff within the clinical learning environment. Providing regular updates to senior colleagues as required.
Utilise Information Technology systems in the design and delivery of education programmes, including intranet, e-learning, and podcasts.
Contribute to the content and design of competency documents/teaching aids/strategies pertinent to specialty.
Working with Mandatory Training Manager/specialist trainers and service leads, regularly review the training/educational requirements of clinical staff at all levels within the trust to ensure that the needs of patients can be met.
Assist in the development and maintenance of national initiatives related to education and continuing professional development such as the Care Certificate and Nursing Revalidation and clinical skills.
In liaison with senior colleagues, assist with the PDR (appraisal) process, in particular supporting the implementation and achievement of personal development plans, achievement of skills and clinical competence for staff offering support, guidance and advice in accessing education/training as required.

Essential
* Professional Clinical Qualification with current NMC, HCPC or GDC registration
* GCSE Maths and English grade A-C (or equivalent)
* European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent

* CIPD in Learning and Development or Working towards
Experience and Knowledge

* Experience in design, delivery and evaluation of wider workforce training and education programmes (inclusive of large groups)
* Experience of working with key stakeholders to develop bespoke workshops to meet service need
* Knowledge of national and local drivers for wider workforce training needs
