To provide professional and clinical leadership and expertise in acute oncology and upper GI cancers, acting as a resource for education and training. To provide early input of specialist nursing care to oncology patients Main duties of the job Faster and better care of patients presenting with complications from radiotherapy, and systemic anti-cancer treatments. (early recognition, better treatment, early discharge). Faster and better care of patients with complications of cancer (early recognition, better treatment, rapid referral back to appropriate speciality) Improved access to appropriate oncology and relevant MDT.
