Head of Maintenance Hours: 40 hours per week (Full time) Salary: competitive Gonville and Caius College is looking for a strong and dynamic manager and leader to head up our multi-skilled Maintenance Department. Our long-serving Head of Maintenance is retiring in July 2025, and we are now looking for someone to replace them and to sustain and build upon the excellent performance of the Department. The College has a large and varied estate ranging from beautiful Historic Grade 1 listed buildings in Central Cambridge to more modern and modest properties. The Head of Maintenance is responsible for all reactive maintenance together with projects of up to a single years duration. The role is demanding, you will need a cool head, good initiative and excellent short- and long-term planning skills. You will need to be able to manage both projects and people and you will thrive on the unexpected. The department of 12 sits within the Operational Staff team of the College which numbers approximately 150 staff. The Head of Maintenance is one of the key members of the Domestic Bursars Senior Management Team and as such will be expected to contribute to and take responsibility for the overall delivery of the Colleges operational services to Fellows, Students and staff.
