Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the mechanical aspects of a school construction project. The ideal candidate must have commercial construction experience and a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems. The role requires ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and ventilation. Ensure work is carried out according to drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Monitor contractors, subcontractors, and mechanical personnel to ensure efficient project execution. Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with health & safety regulations. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure project timelines and budgets are met. Identify and resolve mechanical issues that arise during the project. Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation. Ensure compliance with building codes, permits, and environmental regulations. Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings related to mechanical systems. Liaise with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure the availability of materials and equipment. Requirements & Qualifications: Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor on commercial construction projects (school projects preferred). Relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services). SMSTS/SSSTS certification (preferred). CSCS card (mandatory). Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, and mechanical systems. Familiarity with health and safety regulations and risk assessments. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills. Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with subcontractors, engineers, and site teams. Desirable Skills: Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems).
