Would you like to join our existing small and friendly housekeeping team at North Cotswold Hospital?
We are looking for someone to cover cleaning and catering across the hospital to ensure a welcoming, clean, and safe environment for our patients, their families, and the wider team working on site.
The housekeeping role is an essential part of the day-to-day running of the hospital and ensures our patients and their families experience a high-quality service.
You'll be part of a great team of housekeepers, supported by a Supervisor.
Main duties of the job
We pride ourselves on providing a clean environment for our patients and colleagues. This role involves carrying out the daily cleaning schedule as well as additional cleaning duties as required.
You will work alongside patients, colleagues, and other visitors to our site; being professional and ensuring that you are working within the Trust Values.
This role also involves delivering patient meals and drinks on our inpatient wards.
A full induction and training as well as ongoing in-house supervision will be provided.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· Ensure the cleanliness of the environment in accordance with the National Specification of Cleanliness 2007 or equivalent and to the agreed work schedules. The post holder will clean all areas of the site using a range of methods e.g. High dusting, damp dusting, vacuuming, and mopping, in line with the NHS Cleaning Manual.
· Be responsible for maintaining and replenishing stocks of consumable items used within the department, i.e.: paper hand towels, soap, in a safe and responsible manner.
· Adhere to all aspects of Infection Control in all areas of work, including the use of colour-coded equipment to ensure there is no spread of infection.
· Follow local procedures for reporting areas cleaned and highlighting issues which have prevented duties from being carried out.
* Undertake enhanced cleaning duties under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor.

Experience
* Previous experience of cleaning and catering duties within a similar working environment.
Knowledge
* Basic understanding of cleaning and catering procedures.
* Knowledge and understanding of the importance of Food Hygiene.
