Position: SEMH Welfare Officer
Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year – Permanent
Salary: £26,409 - £28,624 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
Actual Salary: £22,992 - £24,921 per annum
We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Welfare Officer to safeguard students and support with attendance, performance, and well-being, while providing guidance on health, mental health, and emotional support services. The role requires excellent communication, IT, and organisational skills. In this role, you will liaise with teachers, parents, and managers, coordinating resources to address safeguarding, PREVENT, and student welfare issues, including housing and financial advice.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of SEND, SEMH and an understanding of safeguarding procedures. Key responsibilities include:
1. Conducting one-on-one sessions
2. Attending reviews for students with EHCPs
3. Managing student behaviour
4. Ensuring accurate record-keeping
5. Working with vulnerable groups
6. Monitoring attendance
7. Referring safeguarding concerns as necessary
