We are seeking an experienced CBT Therapist to join our dynamic West Midlands Gambling Harms team, on a fixed term contract.
To provide high quality, evidence based cognitive behavioural therapies to adults experiencing gambling harm with complex presentations that achieve the psychological well-being and valued outcomes for people served by the West Midlands Gambling Harms Clinic.
To work at the clinic and other settings as appropriate, and see people individually and in groups, face-to-face and on-line.
Responsibilities include:
1. Providing high quality, evidence based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) services to people experiencing gambling harm with complex presentations.
2. Participating in the development of a high quality, responsive and accessible service delivering valued outcomes for clients and their families and carers, including the development of new and/or specialist CBT interventions.
3. Providing training and supervision for other CBT therapists within the service.
4. Proactively liaising with colleagues and partners across the gambling treatment system in managing referrals.
5. Complying with professional guidelines and standards and the overall framework of the Team's policies and procedures.
6. Accepting referrals via agreed service protocols and assessing a person's suitability for psychological interventions.
7. Co-producing a formulation with the individual that makes sense of their gambling behaviour and additional problems.
8. Assessing risks to self and others and agreeing a plan to manage these.
9. Delivering a high quality, evidence based cognitive behavioural therapy programme for gambling.
10. Educating and involving family members and others in treatment as necessary.
11. Exercising autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients.
