Role Overview: The role reports into the SailGP Technologies Director ensuring that the production is delivered to the highest standards while keeping the team motivated and driven to perform. The successful candidate will be a strong people manager with experience in high-level composite manufacturing and will bring their vast expertise to SailGP Technologies. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the production team, ensuring high performance, motivation and engagement Oversee daily production operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards Drive a culture of continuous improvement, embedding best practices from high-performance composite manufacturing Plan and manage the shipping and logistics of boats/parts inline with deadlines and shipping line/airline guidelines and policies. Stay connected with the progress and update the relevant parties throughout the process Act as the key link between senior leadership and the shop floor, ensuring clear communication and alignment on priorities Oversee and lead the implementation of the apprenticeship scheme, fostering the development of the next generation of skilled technicians. Provide support for the apprenticeship mentors and coordinate their training, providing guidance and addressing any challenges they may face. Championing the value of apprenticeships within the company and the wider industry Continuously improving and evolving the apprenticeship scheme to meet changing industry needs and ensure it remains effective in developing skilled technicians. Work closely with the Foreman to optimize workflow, efficiency and resource management Oversee and direct the use of materials within the facility, ensuring efficient allocation and consumption of resources to meet project needs and minimize waste. Work with Facilities coordinator and Foreman to implement emergency facility works or maintenance that hinder the production process Identify training and development needs within the team to enhance skills and career progression Champion health and safety best practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations Collaborate with the Team Leaders to ensure the facility working areas are clean and well maintained at all times to the best standard Support strategic decision making by providing insights into production capabilities, challenges and opportunities for improvement.
