Responsibilities 1. Qualified or working towards Transport Manager (Management CPC Holder) 2. Deliver engineering performance and service delivery 3. Ownership of core engineering KPI’s for multiple sites 4. Stores activities and KPI responsibility (Supply Chain, Stock levels, VOR position, Warranties, Stores KPI’s) 5. Bus presentation and cleanliness 6. Fleet maintenance, repair and service quality checks 7. Management of ATF’s (where applicable) 8. Fleet reliability and improvement action plans 9. Deployment of campaigns and fleet compliance 10. Produce Daily, Weekly & Period-End reports as required 11. Other reasonable duties which are not mentioned above maybe required to be undertaken. Health & Safety: • Ensuring the maintenance, health and safety, and environmental impact of Company premises meet and improve on the required Company standard • Leadership (duty of care) of engineers onsite staff, including external contractors • Multi site responsible person for H&S and ensuring that facilities and premises meet HS&E statutory requirements • Garage H&S walk-rounds, MBWA’s, Annual Audits – BSI / ISO / UKBus etc. • Resource planning support to Team Leaders (leave, sickness, training) • Maintain O-Licence compliance on all engineering related matters • Contractor management – H&S, Property, CapEx Customer • To ensure that the multi-site depot peak vehicle requirement is achieved on a daily basis and to ensure that all vehicles supplied for service are cleaned and maintained to a high standard that exceeds the statutory requirements set out by DVSA. Quality • Breakdown/defect trend analysis and improvement action plan s • Delivery of core engineering KPI’s to EQSM standards • Delivery of centrally owned technical training strategy • Engineering Standards Audit delivery Person Specification • A strong Engineering background with proven experience in maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy vehicle, equipment and/or machinery, preferably with knowledge and/or experience of the Bus/HGV industry • Ideal candidates will have served a recognised apprenticeship or hold a vocational qualification in a relevant mechanical, electrical engineering, or similar field. Alternatively educated to degree level or diploma in an engineering /vehicle maintenance discipline • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and leads by example in the adherence to related working policies, practices and procedures • Ability to lead and supervise a team and individuals to bring out the best of their abilities to ensure a safe and effective working environment is maintained. • Excellent attention to detail. • Good interpersonal skills and written communication, happy to communicate with all staff and accept feedback in all forms. • Excellent organisational skills • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Experience of working in partnership with Trade Union representative • Demonstrate the Arriva Values
