The Herts Management Committee and its sub committees and working groups oversee the day to day operation of Herts Tennis. Herts Tennis works with the national governing body (the LTA) to support the development of tennis activities across the county including encouraging participation in tennis, support/guidance to tennis clubs and managing county competitions.

Detailed description
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Keep abreast of all Herts Tennis’ activities and work closely with those responsible for liaising with the LTA to keep up to date with the latest guidelines on county tennis partnerships.
2. Maintain relationships with existing partners and seek to secure new partnerships with organisations and individuals who share our Herts values – Honesty, Excellence, Resilience, Teamwork and Sportsmanship.
3. Use a multi-channel marketing approach to attract new partners to support Herts Tennis, including communicating opportunities to all existing Herts Tennis communities.
4. Work to develop meaningful relationships between Herts Tennis and its partners based on rights offerings which could include (but not limited to): branding opportunities alongside grassroots initiatives, digital assets including branding on Herts Tennis website and socials, branding on county team clothing, advertising on banners, clothing and promotional literature at key county events, ability to use the Herts Tennis logo to promote their partnership with us, conditional right to purchase tennis event tickets.
5. Complete negotiations on levels of investment and benefits with Partners to secure Partnership Agreements and ensure that these legal documents are submitted on time to the LTA.
6. Communicate event hospitality opportunities, timelines and deadlines clearly to partners. Manage expectations around the timelines for activities such as booking hospitality for events, receiving tickets for events and submitting advertising artwork for Herts Tennis events and publications.
7. Prepare and distribute invoices for Partnership Investment and Face Value of tickets for tennis events (for example: The Championships Wimbledon, Queens, Nottingham, Eastbourne, Davis Cup, Billie Jean King Cup etc).
8. Ensure timely payment of invoices (this involves liaising with our accounting firm).
9. Support partners with technical queries such as managing digital tickets.
10. Attendance at key Herts Tennis events.
Skills and knowledge:
1. Experience in a similar partnership or marketing/sales role is desirable.
2. Experience in a sports environment is desirable.
3. An ambitious self-starter who is able to work independently and use initiative to attract investment from all areas.
4. Integrity and excellent attention to detail.
5. Strong communication skills and the ability to juggle many requests and alterations to requests at short notice.
6. Confident in keeping detailed records of agreements, using MS Word, Excel as appropriate.
Time Commitment – Partnership lead:
As this is a voluntary role, we understand that the postholder will have other commitments and responsibilities. This role has periods of high activity, most notably during the partnership negotiation period prior to the end January agreement deadlines and during the grass Court swing and in the run up to The Championships Wimbledon. In addition to this the Partnership lead will be expected to participate in in-person/virtual Management Committee meetings and events as appropriate, and in particular to support at events where partners are present.
