We have an exciting opportunity for a Global Medical Strategy and Operations Executive Director to join Norgine. The person holding this position will report to VP Medical Affairs and be a member of the Medical Affairs team.
The core responsibility of the of Global Medical Strategy and Operations Executive Director is to lead the Global Medical Strategy and Operation Team, providing strategic and inspirational leadership to foster a high-performance culture and to direct and coordinate global medical affairs strategy, systems, and outputs, including leading medical asset teams, excellence, information, and healthcare compliance.
You will identify and lead the integration of emerging trends into strategic areas based on product development stages, business challenges, and market context and provide medical and scientific expertise for strategic product/franchise plans in coordination with country medical plans and patient engagement.
This Global role acts on behalf of all Norgine legal entities, including inspections and audits.
This will be a permanent role and can be based in Europe within a Norgine affiliate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Strategically lead and cultivate a high-performance culture within the global medical strategy and operations team.
· Responsible for establishing systems and processes that facilitate open communication with external stakeholders, generating insights to enhance patient care.
· Supervise the coordination of Investigator Sponsored Trials and Norgine Real World Data Generation projects.
· Collaborate with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Global Commercial, and ROCs to ensure a consistent approach across products and central platforms for country utilization.
· Lead/conduct medical reviews of safety evaluations, regulatory submissions, responses, and labelling changes as required.
· Oversee compliance systems and activities related to GxP standards and pertinent internal/external codes and legislation for both promotional and non-promotional activities, including transparency declarations.
· Provide technical medical expertise for specific tasks involving medicinal products and devices.
· Develop strong connections and effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties as appropriate.
· Manage first and second-line activities and provide oversight.
· Manage budget within agreed targets.
· Supervise quality activities, including handling Quality Events, CAPA, and audit/inspection processes.
· Lead recruitment efforts and prepare objectives, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and Performance Development Reviews (PDRs).
Requirements
• A medical degree (Physician, M.D. or equivalent) with commensurate pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience
• Medical Affairs experience is required. You have a strong working knowledge of Medical Affairs and Clinical Development business in Europe, with a thorough understanding of the European healthcare environment
• You have significant oncology/rare disease experience including at an above country level; and other disease areas are a plus
• Significant experience leading change projects within the pharmaceutical industry
• You have a strong background in drug development and life-cycle development of related products.
• Experience working in a matrix, cross-functional environment and in alliance relationships is very important and helpful.
• You can cultivate and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
• In addition, you have excellent presentation and communication skills with fluency in English
