Management of RAP sales and production for the Contracting business Secure contractors for production of RAP (unprocessed recycled asphalt planings) with robust and commercially advantageous supply chain arrangements Maximise reclaimed asphalt sourcing and operational opportunities (RAP) for 34 Asphalt Plants nationally within Heidelberg Materials Group (Heidelberg and MQP Asphalt Plants) ensuring compliance with European Technical Specifications and environmental legislation. Maximise selling price for surplus RAP not used by Heidelberg or MQP from the Contracting business to external customers. Source RAP and C&D Waste (planning services and transport if required) in line with current and forecasted Heidelberg Materials Group RAP utilisation targets. Negotiate advantageous terms with planning services suppliers. Maintain regular forecasts of RAP demand across the Heidelberg Asphalt and MQP businesses as well as supply options. Ensure sufficient stock is held to support the business and monitor stock turnover levels. Capture and contribute to production of carbon and recycling figures and resource for KPI’s and quality submissions Procuring at most competitive rates, additional RAP to meet the Asphalt business demand Asist Development of RAP strategy including sources of RAP, contracting pipeline, processed RAP value, logistics and stocking Work alongside Contracting commercial teams with Bids / Tenders. Liaise with Procurement, customers, technical, commercial, operations and supply chain management providing feedback in all aspects of reclaimed asphalt & planings Ensure compliance of sourced material including routine inspection, testing and sampling of reclaimed asphalt and manufactured asphalt products comply with European standards and company procedures Achieve agreed safety, cost, profit, quality and service objectives through the successful and effective management of asphalt / RAP sourcing and utilization in a defined area Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to improve operational and commercial performance Provide leadership in a style that both drives the business to achieve its objectives and creates the conditions in which the team are well motivated and high performing Maintain and ensure BI information is held and FP&A and BLC data support Working with the Heidelberg Regional and National Contracting and Asphalt business, to ensure all aspects of the business is maintained and improved to a high standard. Key accountabilities Develop National and Regional operations plan to achieve required safety, profit, quality and service objectives Provide monthly operational cost and production forecast reflecting commercial needs Assist and implement benchmarking to identify opportunities for performance improvement including BI FP&A and BLC data support including SAP. Take responsibility for providing a safe working environment Take responsibility for managing performance issues such as operational productivity, cost control, service levels and product quality Review, analyses and identify achievements, shortfalls and areas for improvement against plan on a regular basis and implement corrective actions Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organizational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care. Provide leadership in a style that both drives the business to achieve its objectives and creates the conditions in which the team are well motivated and high performing. Communicate in a clear and effective manner, business expectations, including performance requirements and results. Be open and honest with colleagues, team members and the Regional team to ensure issues are addressed which impact on any aspects of the business. Ensure the supply of RAP is aligned to the sales delivery profile whilst delivering maximum efficiency through the mixing program. Profit improvement arising from optimisation of RAP & Asphalt.
