Job Title : CAD Draughtsperson
Location : Ashford, Kent
Fixed Term Contract : 12 Months
Hours of Work : Day Shift, Monday - Friday (with flexibility)
Contracted Hours : 37.5hrs per week
Salary : £50k - £60k per annum (dependant on experience)
About the Role
To coordinate all aspects of controlled documentation in line with company procedures. Produce engineering drawings from outline specifications in accordance with requirements given by engineering team. Amend technical drawings and specifications. Support the implementation of New Product Development (NPD) projects. The role will be site based and hours can be flexible but will need flexibility to support the Capex Delivery.
What we need from you:
The ideal candidate for the role will be able to demonstrate that they can:
1. Produce and update detail design drawings for process equipment and packing lines
2. Produce and update building layout and site services drawings – Steam, Water, Electricity, Compressed Air, Gas, Underground pipes, Sprinklers etc…
3. Produce drawings for planning applications
4. Produce and update mechanical, process and electrical drawings e.g. piping & cabling routes, hoppers and feed systems. As built drawings
5. To produce process flow maps
6. To enquire and interpret what is required from project discussions
7. To work with the Project Engineers to meet their specific project requirements
8. Delivery of project specification on time in full
9. Co-ordinate and formalise drawing formats and standards for the site
10. Maintain company drawing standards and technical records
Skills and Experience:
11. Education to A Level or equivalent, BTEC or HNC/HND. Previous experience of working in an engineering design environment or engineering qualifications are highly advantageous
12. Effective communication, including writing and reporting across a range of stakeholders
13. To be a proficient user of AutoCAD and Bentley Micro Station tools
14. Good understanding of Design Office practices, drawing revision control and change processes
15. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
16. Flexible and adaptable, in order to work on a number of projects/enquiries simultaneously
17. To be a proficient user of company software tools which include 3D Experience, FreeHand, Microsoft Office
18. To be proficient within the following drawing office key design disciplines
19. General Arrangement drawings
20. Fabrication drawings
21. Producing 3D models
