Job summary The successful candidate will join the Vascular team consisting of 8 consultants, 5 middle grades and a team of specialist nurses and junior doctors. Duties will include supporting both inpatient and outpatient services, dividing time between the operating theatres, wards, day surgery unit and clinics. The Trust provides a range of vascular services including (but not limited to): - AAA surgery (open, EVAR, FEVAR) - Carotid endarterectomy - Lower limb revascularization (open and endovascular) - Mesenteric revascularization (open and endovascular) - Varicose vein surgery - Thoracic outlet decompression Renal access work (AV fistula and PD tube insertion) Main duties of the job Individual job plans will be discussed with the post holder on appointment, with the Clinical Director to finalise the job plan which will become operational on commencement. All job plans are agreed in line with the Trusts Job Planning Principles. Job plans will be reviewed at least annually, following an appraisal meeting. The job plan will be a prospective agreement that sets out a doctor's typical working pattern, duties and responsibilities and objectives for the coming year. It will cover all aspects of a doctor's professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerial responsibilities and external commitments. Additional programmed activities may be offered to the post holder, up to a maximum of 2 for full time posts, taking the maximum total to 12. Any offer of additional programmed activities will be based on the needs of the service and in line with the Trust objectives and will be reviewed on at least an annual basis.
