Our client is a leading provider of intelligent lighting control solutions. Supporting specifiers, installers, and end users by delivering a comprehensive in-house service—ranging from pre-commissioning and CAD work to project software and on-site commissioning.
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join the team. This role is central to the design and development of electronic and electrical circuits for the product range. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in the full development lifecycle—covering everything from schematic creation to testing and documentation.
* Design and develop PCBs for both new and existing systems, including:
o DALI driver circuits
o Bluetooth communication interfaces
o Relay circuits
o PoE switches and drivers
o Control modules and LED drivers
o Sensors
* Select appropriate components for circuit designs
* Conduct long-term product testing and performance evaluation
* Carry out compliance testing for EMC, LVD, and other standards
* Lead fault finding, including RMAs and goods-in inspections
* Provide training and technical support to commissioning engineers
* Develop and maintain demo and training kits
* Liaise with software developers for app-based BLE device testing
* Manage client access to company smart phone app and contribute to functionality improvements
* Organise and manage 1st-off prototypes and sample tracking
* Maintain accurate design documentation, including:
o PCB schematics and layouts
o BOMs and production packs
o Wiring diagrams and test specifications
o Fault-finding guidance notes
* Support manufacturing partners to ensure adherence to design specifications
* Work collaboratively with the Product & Operations Director and cross-functional teams
* Continuously review and improve existing designs for functionality, cost, and durability
* Archive and back up project data regularly
* Provide weekly project progress updates to management
Requirements
* Degree, BTEC, HND, or relevant apprenticeship in Electronic Engineering
* Demonstrable experience designing and testing electronic circuits
* Proficiency in schematic and PCB layout design tools
* Familiarity with industry regulations including EMC and LVD
* Experience with product testing, fault diagnosis, and debugging
* Exposure to embedded systems and communication protocols (e.g., BLE) is advantageous
* Prior experience with lighting control systems is a strong plus
* Strong documentation and reporting skills
Benefits
* 25 days annual leave
* Healthcare plan
* Life insurance
* Pension fund
* 35-hour work week
* Training and development opportunities
