Position Overview:
As a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Occupational Unit Lead and the Force Medical Advisor in providing an occupational health service, promoting and maintaining the health and safety of our workforce. You will collaborate with employees, management, and stakeholders to implement effective occupational health programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and fostering a culture of well being within the organisation.
This opportunity provides a hybrid working arrangement, requiring 60% per week of on site working.
Responsibilities:
* Supervise and support a team of Occupational Health Nurse Advisors and an Occupational Health Nurse
* Manage your own caseload.
* Co ordinate and conduct health surveillance and Hep B clinics across the force area including pre employment screenings and periodic health check ups.
* To be a productive member of the multidisciplinary senior OH team.
* Prepare and review Occupational Health policies and procedures.
* To represent the department and constabulary at a variety of meetings across the organisation and with external partners
* To deputise of the OH Unit Lead as required
* To lead on some workplace streams, such as working groups, Cority, Oscar Kilo standards or similar
* To triage referrals into the department and allocate them appropriately.
* Provide expert guidance on occupational health issues and support employees in managing their health conditions, including redeployment.
* Collaborate with HR, safety teams, and management to implement proactive measures for injury prevention and workplace health promotion.
* Develop and deliver wellbeing initiatives to enhance employee awareness and engagement.
* Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Skills, experience and qualifications:
1. Registered General Nurse and hold a degree in Occupational Health.
2. Experience working as a Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisor would be advantageous
3. In depth knowledge of occupational health regulations, standards, and best practices.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team oriented environment.
6. Strong organisational and problem solving skills.
