Leads a designated area of practice within the cardiac rhythm management section and delivers a specialist clinical service e.g. autonomous role in running pacemaker and ICD follow-up clinics. Assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring clinical and organisational strategies within areas of expertise Maintains and develops high standards of service provision throughout their area of responsibility. Contributes to service and staff development including performing annual appraisals Participate as required in the on-call rota to provide a 24-hour emergency service for pacing /ICD problems for adult and paediatric patients. Responsible for electronic staff rostering and ensuring staffing is adequate for service need To train a wide variety of staff groups in the specialist techniques of pacing. To develop the highly specialised technical aspects of Bi ventricular pacing and defibrillator implantation and optimization, as well as the existing multisite pacing service. To be flexible in working within other areas when service needs demand.
