Job Description:
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Labourer to join the team at Wythenshawe.
We are looking for a talented individual who has the experience and knowledge for this busy role and who will be able to work well as part of our extensive property team to deliver the best possible service to our residents.
What you will be doing in this role:
* To carry out general labouring duties on residential sites and assist all trades when required;
* To prepare ground work, assist Roofers and drainage repairs also to use a high-pressure drainage machine. (Training will be provided if required)
* To use hand and electric/hydraulic machine tools and be prepared to undergo training for this;
* To prepare and mix building materials, including plaster, mortar and concrete;
* To load, unload stack and deliver a variety of building materials;
* To carry out a variety of non-skilled building tasks;
* Working on the drainage van using the jetting machine to clear blockages;
* To drive and be responsible for a company vehicle when required and in accordance with health and safety and WCHG Fleet Policy and Drivers Handbook, including conducting weekly vehicle checks;
* To use and be responsible for a company mobile phone as required by WCHG, ensuring it is used responsibly in accordance with WCHG’s instructions; and
* To complete all necessary associated work documentation.
What we ask of you:
* Prior experience of working in a building/construction environment;
* Ability to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the skills, technology and safety procedures required to carry out the full range of tasks contained with the job description;
* Ability to communicate on a one-to-one basis and produce information in a written format, including completion of necessary work documentation;
* Ability to carry out duties under minimum supervision and as part of a team;
* Must possess a full driving licence;
* Must be prepared to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding and work in confined spaces and in a variety of work conditions;
* Must be able to establish and maintain good customer relationships;
* Must be able to participate in emergency service involving working outside normal working hours as and when required;
* Willingness to undertake an enhanced criminal records bureau check; and
* Must be prepared to undertake additional training associated with the specific requirements of the trade as and when required.
Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving license is required.
