About the role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Operator based in Paignton. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £24,125 per annum + benefits. You will perform summer grass cutting and winter grounds and building maintenance across various sites, supporting the Minor Works Team Leaders and the Central Support Manager, and help optimize work schedules in liaison with the Central Support Administrator.
What you'll be doing:
* Travel to and from your home to your work base using your own vehicle
* Travel to various South West locations using a South West Water vehicle
* Carry out reactive and planned grounds and general maintenance, including:
* Grass Cutting, Strimming, Hedge Trimming, Tree Work (ground level)
* Path repairs (gravel, concrete, slabs, steps)
* Cover repairs and replacements
* Woodwork & door furniture repairs
* Roof gutter repairs
* Painting and decorating
* Periodic cleaning of water treatment tanks
* Provide accurate feedback on activities
* Follow schedules, rules, and procedures
* Coordinate with team leaders and support staff to optimize schedules
* Assist customers calmly and pass information to management
* Work safely, adhering to health and safety standards
* Use powered plant, hand tools, and chemicals appropriately
What we are looking for:
* A full UK Driving Licence (classification B+E preferable)
* Experience with grounds maintenance machinery (preferred)
* Experience with building repairs and maintenance (preferred)
* Teamwork skills and understanding of safety procedures
* Flexible working hours
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn
* Good math and IT skills (preferred)
