Wood is seeking expression of Interest for a Digital Twin / 3DV Systems Lead to potentially join the team for its E&OI unit. This role plays a critical role in overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of digital twin/3DV technologies.
The roles can be based anywhere within the UK with occasional travel.
The Role
The Digital Twin / 3DV System lead is responsible for shaping the future of digital transformation by leveraging cutting-edge technology to improve decision-making, efficiency, and business growth. They ensure seamless integration with enterprise systems, manage data quality, and drive innovation through emerging technologies.
Additionally, they engage with clients, assess vendors, support business development, and oversee continuous improvement efforts.

Within our Digital Operations team, our clients are operators of critical energy infrastructure as well as specialist manufacturing and pharmaceuticals, who are committed to maintaining safe and effective operational assets worldwide. Our work supports every stage in the asset lifecycle but particularly focuses on the integrity of engineering data in digital solutions as well as optimizing existing assets through our engineering expertise. We advise clients as they navigate through the digital and energy transition.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities:
* Define and drive the digital twin/3DV System strategy in alignment with business goals
* Collaborate with stakeholders to establish objectives, key results, and key performance indicators for digital twin projects
* Lead the design, development, and deployment of digital twin/3DV solutions for various applications
* Ensure seamless integration with IoT, AI, Simulation models, and enterprise systems
* Develop and execute plans for data collection, migration, validation, and improvement
* Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure innovation and competitiveness
* Engage with clients to understand their digital transformation needs and align solutions accordingly
* Provide technical support and consultation to clients, guiding them through implementation and adoption
* Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and innovation
* Identify and explore new business opportunities by expanding the adoption of 3DV System

Expected
* A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline is typically required
* Experience in delivering digital solutions within the energy sector or related industries is often sought
* Proficiency in solution and data architecture, data processing, analytics, and IoT systems is essential
* Familiarity with technologies such as OPC, ETL, and IoT is also expected
* Strong understanding of solution and data architecture
* Familiarity with Bentley, Aveva, and/or Hexagon would be an advantage
Desirable
* Good communicator (able to translate complex problems into simple solutions)
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
* Creative and innovative problem-solving skills
* Self-motivated and proactive - works effectively and responsibly without close supervision
* Good presentation skills and the ability to talk confidently around specialized subjects
* Able to identify sales development opportunities and work with G&D colleagues to prioritize and deliver results
