Job Description We're looking for a Senior Capture Manager to join our team based from Ampthill, Bedfordshire. This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4 day working week Monday - Thursday. Reporting to the Head of Capture, this is a key position central to the growth of the business through the application of proven, successful, strategic Capture Management. You will be responsible for developing capture strategy including business solution for pursuit of opportunities. The Capture Manager will identify potential customers, complete competitive assessments as well as opportunity identification through to Transition to Contact Performance. The Capture Manager will participate in bid and proposal activities and will be directed by the Head of Capture. You will lead and integrate the assigned cross functional team to establish and execute specific capture win plans. The Capture Manager will liaise closely with Business development, Customers and Delivery in determining the most advantageous (to the customer and LM) proposition. Key Aspects : Ampthill : Ensuring compliance with the BD Policy in all aspects CPS 009, specifically defining & refining the Capture Strategy, win themes, competitive assessment, leading reviews such as Pink, Blue, Red, Gold & Black-Hat, Position-to-Win, Pricing and championing the Capture at all internal (& external) reviews. Ampthill : Ensuring compliance to the Quality Policy in all aspects. Ampthill : Meeting and championing the Ampthill BD and Capture processes, ensuring the Capture relevance to the Ampthill objectives, ability to deliver the growth targets and ensuring its communication to relevant stakeholders. Ampthill : Ensuring alignment with broader LMUK, MFC, Space and LM BD activities and priorities. Business : Ensuring assigned Capture objectives (strategic and day-to-day) are maintained and executed in accordance with LMUK Ampthill process, and regulatory requirements, and in accordance with the approved financial commitments. Business: Ensure the assigned capture activities are appropriately forecast and resourced with the right staff, skills, processes, tools and at the right time. Business: Ensuring the assigned Captures are coordinated across Business Development, Customers needs and delivery teams, to determine the most advantageous business proposition. Critical to this will be ensuring appropriate through-life design, facilitating seamless delivery performance as the programme transitions through the lifecycle. Business: Working with the Functional Leads to deliver all assigned Capture programmes. and ensure appropriate skills are in place to support and execute captures. Business: Supporting the development of business strategy where requested. Projects and discretionary funding: Providing authoritative Capture Management direction for the assigned captures with direction / support / SME advice across Ampthill activities to ensure successful execution, and ensuring the appropriate levels of authorisation throughout the organisation. Projects and discretionary funding: Improving LM PWin and ensuring that each assigned Capture is executing efficiently to plan and budget, and that the plan and budget reflects the scope and logical sequencing of the activities to be performed. Management of a capture team exceeding 5 personnel Experience working in Capture teams for programmes >£5m for at least 2 years Proven broad Capture performance and experience with military and commercial technology campaigns Experience leading a team to develop proposal, pricing and risk data Experience delivering a capture strategy to contract award Experience of and proven track record in complying with the Business Winning and Capture processes eg colour reviews, Position to Win, Competitor assessment. Experience leading a multi-disciplined team in developing software, hardware and support propositions. Good interpersonal skills and leadership qualities. Ability to confidently present materials to peers, customers and LM leadership Experience working Captures with UK MoD, UK Govt procurement Agencies Customer focused with skills in developing customer intimacy and trust Excellent written and oral communications skills and experience presenting to internal and external customers, including at senior levels. Experience as a user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, VISIO, MS Project or Primavera P5 Desirable skills Management of a capture team exceeding 20 personnel Experience leading programme and capture management of programmes >£10m.
