Trials, Experiments and Technology (Development) are seeking expressions of interest for the role of Trial Capability Lead who can work across the whole of our Test and Trials Technology Centre (3TC), supporting the safe design and delivery of new trial capabilities.
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £62,020 - £88,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience)

The Trial Capability Lead will work closely with key members of 3TC and AWE's Subject Matter Experts to identify, develop & implement engineering projects for enhanced capability to support the trials that we undertake in 3TC. Responsibilities will include ensuring best business practices are in place and being followed and that the candidate will undertake and be successful, for SQEP assessment.
This is a leadership role and will suit Engineers with a strong technical background and experience in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, preferably with development of new methodologies and technologies and the introduction of these to market/for business-as-usual activities. You will lead the design and development of new Trials and Experiment capabilities across 3TC to enable AWE to complete our mission, whilst also developing other engineers & providing continuous engineering improvement.

Ideal Candidates will have the following skills, experience, and behaviours:
* Proven ability to review technical reports, drawings and documentation.

* Proven Leadership skills.
* Experience of working with a quality management system.
* Knowledge and experience of configuration management.
* Extensive mechanical/electrical engineering and systems engineering experience.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team and with multi-disciplined stakeholders.
* The ability to evaluate products for performance, reliability and safety.
Whilst not to be considered a checklist, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:
* Awareness of developing, testing and evaluation of theoretical designs.
* Ability to coach and develop design engineers through their projects.
* Engineering trials and testing experience is desirable.
* Hold Chartership status or be actively working towards it.

Due to the classified nature of the work involved, there are limited opportunities to work from home in this role. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working on site at AWE Aldermaston.
