Position: EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Contract: Full-time, long-term
Salary: £12.90 - £13.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? A welcoming primary school in Fleetwood is seeking an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with suspected Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
As an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with suspected ASC, helping them access learning and build confidence in the classroom.
2. Assist in implementing strategies to develop the child’s communication, social skills, and sensory regulation.
3. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt activities and create a positive learning environment.
4. Foster the child’s independence and emotional well-being, ensuring they feel safe and supported.
The successful candidate will:
1. Have experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or similar needs (desirable but not essential).
2. Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills.
3. Demonstrate a strong understanding of EYFS curriculum and child development.
4. Hold a relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (Level 2 or above preferred).
5. Be willing to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
6. Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
