Mechanical Engineering Supervisor – Stratford
Location: Stratford

Hours – Days Monday to Friday
One of the well known companies in the FM and Maintenance industry is currently looking to recruit a key member of staff to add to their high profile estate based in East London. As a company, they provide specialist support in the operation, maintenance and repair of building services, and excel in the maintenance of technically demanding blue chip and critical sites within London’s Square Mile and Central London. This will include, but is not limited to managing the planned and reactive maintenance schedules, attending client meetings, compiling reports, supervision of staff and managing sub-contractors.
The ideal candidate will have previously worked within a high profile commercial environment requiring critical and non-critical maintenance. Candidates must have a strong technical understanding and must also be able to demonstrate a proven track record in the commercial building services environment. Key responsibilities:
1. To attend and complete reactive Mechanical and Plumbing works within their Service Level agreements for Attendance, Response and Completion
2. Responsible for maintaining mechanical installations, repairs and maintenance to M&E Plant and Building Fabric
3. Completing Planned Maintenance in line with SFG20 and HTM Guidelines
4. Complete proactive inspections, remedial repairs and installations
5. To provide support to the wider Engineering Day Team in the event of an emergency call
6. To support in providing cost information for chargeable Mechanical and Plumbing works on site
7. To provide updates to the Helpdesk Co-ordinator on a regular basis to ensure the CAFM System is up to date
8. Ventilation AP duties under HTM
9. Water RP duties under HTM
10. Carry out daily checks of plant rooms and equipment
11. To provide technical and operational support and advice to the engineering team
12. Resolving escalations from the Helpdesk and the client within reasonable time; ensuring solutions are implemented quickly and effectively
13. Ensuring planned maintenance services are scheduled and completed on time
14. Ensuring that compliance documents; contract and HTM logbooks are fully up to date and audit ready
15. Managing client/end user escalations and queries. Encouraging the reporting of hazards on site via the engineering team and sub-contractor supply chain
16. Ensuring that PPE, Uniform, Tools and Hazards are logged, monitored and managed
17. To provide support outside of normal working hours in the case of call out/escalation from the shift team, client and/or UCLH NHS Trust staff
18. Responsibility of completion of works orders within their Service Level Agreements
19. Undertake daily plant walk rounds to note and proactively repair any defects and to maintain plant rooms in a clean, tidy and safe condition
20. Manage, rectify and record defects through the helpdesk to ensure SLA Timeframes are always metProvide rapid and effective response to customer and helpdesk requirements
21. Review RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and sub-contractor competencies before work permits are authorised Escalate any issue that would affect the availability, health and safety and security of the site
22. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements Adhere to all current company policies and procedures and to take an active approach in continuous improvement of these proceduresTo provide support to the wider Engineering Team in the event of an emergency call
23. Attend training scheduled by the Management Team (E-Learning and role/site specific courses)
24. Complete tool box talks with the team .Provide regular hazard reporting for the site on a weekly basis
Person Specification/Requirements
25. Experience of working within an Healthcare environment would be advantageous
26. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people of all levels of seniority
27. NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing/Heating or equivalent
28. Qualifications related to Steam and Pressure Systems advantageous
29. Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all building services; particularly A/C and BMS
30. Demonstrate previous experience in fault finding with various systems (mechanical & Electrical)
31. Ability to fault find on both Mechanical and Electrical Plant and Equipment
32. Demonstrate knowledge of L8 Compliance
33. A flexible approach to work with a willingness to travel would be essential.
