Job Summary: This role involves performing complex analysis to improve portfolio risk, profitability, forecasting, and operational performance, especially in consumer products like credit cards. It requires applying knowledge across business and technical topics, leading strategic projects, and collaborating with business and risk teams.
We seek an experienced model validation professional to join our Fraud Prevention and Detection team to combat financial crime.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Analyze financial models, market data, and portfolio trends to enhance product performance and risk management.
2. Mentor peers and serve as a subject matter expert on various systems and topics.
3. Identify and communicate business trends to senior management.
4. Support large-scale projects, including platform conversions and new integrations, through advanced reporting and analytics.
5. Develop technical documentation for models using techniques from regression to neural networks.
6. Collaborate with developers to understand model workings and ensure accuracy.
7. Coordinate with technology teams for model deployment and future planning.
8. Work with risk, legal, and compliance teams to validate and approve models.
9. Monitor models regularly and share insights with stakeholders.
10. Ensure models comply with policies for AI and mitigate associated risks.
11. Track model updates and maintain proper documentation.
12. Enhance model performance analytics beyond standard requirements, including early detection and root cause analysis.
Required Qualifications:
* At least 4 years of experience in model validation or development.
* Proficiency in SQL and SAS.
* Strong technical writing skills.
* Excellent problem-solving and data analysis skills.
* Ability to manage projects and work independently on complex issues.
* Effective communication and influencing skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Curiosity and creativity in solving problems.
Desired Qualifications:
* Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in quantitative fields.
* Over 7 years of experience in model validation within financial services.
* Proficiency in Python and Tableau.
