Job Summary
To provide administration and bookings facilities to the Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology clinical teams within the Imaging directorate.
Main duties of the job
* Support the Interventional Radiology Administrator with patient elective bookings, notes prepping and overall support to the Imaging Directorate.
* Enter patient details on both CRIS and iPM systems.
* Book and rearrange both inpatient and day case procedures with numerous day case and inpatient wards/areas.
* Create bed referrals for patients to be booked onto numerous day case and inpatient wards/areas.
* Deal with alterations and short notice cancellations of lists and notifying appropriate staff and patients.
* Receive all incoming post relevant to Interventional Radiology and process in a timely manner, and ensure all outgoing post is similarly processed.
* Support the Interventional Radiology pre-op nurses.
* Liaise with all levels of medical staff to ensure the effective and efficient running of lists.
* Monitor, maintain and update the IR Waiting List spreadsheet to ensure all patients are captured.
* Produce Theatre e-Lists for varying medical areas prior to Theatre sessions taking place.
* Advise patients and medical staff on special procedures and preparations required to ensure a successful examination.
* Provide a weekly diary for IR procedural Rooms 5 and 6 to the wider IR team, inclusive of clinical and medical staff.
* Use existing monthly rotas, amend and produce accordingly to reflect Consultant Radiologist and Consultant Neuroradiologist activity in rooms 5 and 6, before distributing to affected staff members.
* Ensure Theatre e-Lists are provided in a timely fashion for view by the Tactical Control Centre/Acute Care Team.
* Dispatch appointment letters ensuring all relevant information and leaflets are included.
* Prepare and dispatch day lists to the Interventional Radiology team.
* Organise appropriate transport for patients.
* Provide statistical information as required, compiling and producing waiting list figures at the end of each month: distributing to managers and medical staff.
* Communicate with stakeholders including trainees, clinicians, managers, patients, other colleagues and workers from other agencies.
* Ensure all clerical duties are carried out to a high standard at times of planned and unplanned leave.
* Participate in providing assistance in completing daily tasks for other appointments clerks when required.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
* Educated to GCSE or equivalent standard (must include English and Maths).
* Previous clerical experience.
Desirable Criteria:
* NVQ Level 2.
* Previous NHS experience.
