Job overview
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor with an interest in Frailty to join our existing Frailty multidisciplinary team. The post will be based on our Acute Frailty ward, carrying out comprehensive geriatric assessments on frail older patients.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work alongside 3 consultant geriatricians on our 38 bedded Acute Frailty ward, providing timely comprehensive geriatric assessment and working with the Acute Frailty multidisciplinary team to facilitate safe discharge home. The team includes experienced nursing staff, Resident doctors, Physician Associates, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, a case manager, and a Frailty Pharmacist.
The post will also include some outreach into the Emergency Department to ensure prompt assessment of frail patients identified as requiring admission.
The post is suitable for a physician with at least 4 years post-qualification experience (able to work at IMT3 level or above), and an interest in care of frail older people. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, experience of multidisciplinary teamworking, and a holistic view of patient care.

Education and Qualifications
* MBBS or Basic Medical Degree
* MRCP or MRCGP
* Full GMC registration
Experience & Knowledge
* Ability to work collaboratively with allied health care professionals in primary and secondary care
* Knowledge of primary health care systems and IT

* Ability and enthusiasm for teaching health care professionals and medical students in an Acute Medicine setting
* Capable of organising and prioritising work effectively
* Able to form part of a team and recognise the importance of team working
* Experience in teaching medical students and allied health professionals
