37 hours Monday - Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 24 months

The role will be working in the office at Temple Street where they can liaise with the PMs and Engineers and on site alongside the NEC4 site supervisor. The expectation is that they will be on site for the majority of the role and in the office about a day a week. This will depend on the number of projects out on site at any one time.
As a Construction Manager, you will oversee and coordinate CRSTS construction projects in Bristol, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. You will manage site operations, schedules, and resources, working closely with Project Managers (PMs) to prevent delays and ensure alignment with the construction plan.
You will collaborate with the network highway team, NEC PM, site supervisors, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations, compliance with safety regulations, and effective risk management. Clear communication and teamwork will be essential to prevent delays and resolve issues promptly.
Key duties:
1. Oversee the CRSTS construction programme by understanding final designs, surveys, and investigations.
2. Conduct site visits to ensure the Contractor is adhering to the specification and programme.
3. Collaborate with the onsite NEC supervisor to maintain a safe work environment and address any concerns.
4. Liaise with statutory undertakers and departments to manage conflicts and coordinate project delivery.
5. Communicate technical information to PMs, clients, stakeholders, and the public to ensure effective service delivery and resolve issues.
Key requirements:
1. Knowledge and experience of current construction related Health & Safety and Construction Design and Management regulations.
2. Knowledge and experience to interpret and apply technical standards and to deliver practical, economic and safe design solutions for a range of highways and transport engineering related projects in an urban environment.
3. Have a working knowledge of business and teamworking applications, for example Microsoft 365 or equivalent, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, browser, team collaboration applications.
4. Experience of site supervision of Highway construction projects including coordination and managing resources.
5. Experience in negotiating with Statutory Undertakers, Contractors and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of projects.
6. Able to demonstrate project management skills in leading and supervising a project team and to work effectively within a wider multi-disciplinary team.
