We’re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Manager to play a significant role in the strategic transformation of our infrastructure from its current to its future state. Helping us modernise and think radically about the role of technology in the future of the organisation.
We’ve recently brought our ICT services in-house after 15 years of having them outsourced as a shared service. This brings with it a fantastic opportunity to take a fresh look at our infrastructure holistically, and design a modern, secure, reliable and efficient service from the ground up.
You’ll join a new team whose job is to deliver ongoing organisational transformation and innovation through the delivery of digital products, services and technologies.
Benefits include: Flexible working hours, remote working opportunities, generous holiday allowance, Local Government Pension Scheme.
About the role:
Manage and maintain the infrastructure and networks, both on premise (physical and virtual) and cloud.
Ensure that infrastructure and systems are secure, available, cost efficient and continuously improved.
Work with the wider Digital and Technology team and stakeholders (internal and external) to scope and deliver technical projects.
Manage and mentor junior colleagues, ensuring that we build, document, manage, support and maintain solutions according to business need.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of the organisation’s technical plans and policies.
About the candidate:
Proven experience in infrastructure management, including network, servers, storage, and virtualisation.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, infrastructure technologies, and security principles.
Solid knowledge of Azure, and experience with cloud migration projects.
Proficient in infrastructure monitoring and management tools.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior colleagues to ensure deadlines are met and to specification.
Strong problem-solving abilities, with a modern and strategic mindset.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
