As the Early Years and Childcare Funding Manager you will be an important member of the Business Services team leading on the delivery a number of existing, nearly new and brand new early years education and childcare support offers to children and families within Bath and North East Somerset.
This will include the Early Years Entitlement offer of 30 hours a week for children as young as nine months in working families due to be fully rolled out by September 2025.
You will manage a small team who deliver the Early Years Entitlement Offer, the Council's Childcare Voucher Scheme and other financial services for departmental colleagues and the wider Council.
A key part of the role will be working with data enabling the delivery of the Early Years Entitlement to all eligible children and to also maximise the opportunity offered through funded early years education and childcare in order to help to narrow the attainment outcomes for key cohorts of children including those from an economically disadvantaged background and children with SEND.
About you :
You can work well in a team who are all supporting each other in delivering their regular workload along with new changes.
You will be making a lot of contact with our business partners who deliver early years education and childcare across Bath and North East Somerset, so relationship building is very important.
You will also be dealing with families who are new to these offers and may need support in understanding the options available to them and their children.
Much of our work involves using our IT systems to collect and process information. You will need to be inquisitive and challenge some of the outputs from our systems resolving any differences to the satisfaction of the regulations, the parties involved and to produce information used across the wider service and by the Department for Education.
You will be provided with equipment which will enable you to work either from home or our team base, the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham where the team are based on a Wednesday, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes' walk away.
