About the Role: As a Forge Team Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe forging of products that meet our high-quality standards. Initially, this role involves working on a 2-shift basis, transitioning to a permanent night shift after a successful training period.
Key Responsibilities:
* Adhere to all safety and quality processes and procedures.
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping.
* Input and modify programs on computer controls.
* Organize die and tool storage and prepare dies for production.
* Perform fettling, billet painting, and shot blasting.
* Repair dies and tools during production.
* Inspect forged products to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
* Brand and record part, serial, or other required numbers.
* Clean work areas and pits and carry out painting tasks as needed.
* Assist with the introduction of new or modified parts.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience operating forklifts (FLT license preferred).
* Familiarity with pendant crane operation, confined spaces, and abrasive wheels.
* Prior experience working in a heavy industrial or engineering environment is essential.
* Flexible and adaptable attitude toward duties and working hours.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Attention to detail, with a focus on quality and safety.
Schedule:
* 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday
* Night shift (following the initial training period)
Pay and Benefits:
* Salary: £27,000.00–£33,000.00 per year
