We are looking for a dynamic Learning Support Assistant / Sports Assistant to join our dedicated team at an Independent School in Newport, South Wales. The school specialises in supporting children through a unique approach that integrates sport into learning, helping pupils develop both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and group support to pupils, encouraging engagement in both academic and sporting activities. Assist in delivering a tailored curriculum with a focus on sport as a medium for learning. Work with pupils who may exhibit challenging behaviour, using your skills to help them build confidence and self-discipline. Collaborate closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive and supportive environment for students. Help students develop social, emotional, and behavioural skills that will aid their re-entry into mainstream education. What We’re Looking For: A background in sport, coaching, or physical education. Experience working with children, particularly those with challenging behaviour. A passion for education and a genuine desire to support young people in reaching their potential. A Team Teach qualification is desirable but not essential. Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
